The Humane Society of El Paso and El Paso Animal Services, a division of ESD, are asking the community to "Paw it Forward" and "Be Pawesome" this summer in an effort to raise adoptions and remind our city about the over population of animals due to irresponsible pet owners. All rescues over 12 weeks of age will have the special adoption fee of just $60.
June 7th-21st all rescues over 12 weeks of age will have the special adoption fee of just $60. This includes age appropriate vaccinations, microchip and spay/neuter surgery.
THOUSANDS OF ANIMALS HAVE DIED THIS YEAR, HELP US SAVE MORE LIVES
6,873 animals have been euthanized between January to May of this year. A major contributing factor to the over population of animals is the failure to spay/neuter.Our agencies efforts to educate the public about responsible pet ownership are in full force; however, we still see thousands of animals left behind for a variety of reasons.
The predominate reasons animals are surrendered or never reclaimed are below.
We want to remind the public that adopting is a lifetime commitment and being a pet owner takes money and time but the benefits of having a pet are priceless.
We also urge current pet owners to double check and make sure their pets are up to date on vaccinations, registered with the city, micro chipped and spayed or neutered.
Help us educate our community and spread the word about #BePawesome2014
A similar adoption campaign was launched two years ago and over 500 animals were adopted. Let's make this a Waggin summer and save some lives!
